The weight of love
The weight of Love
Lies heavy on a heart.
Lonely or fulfilled,
Happy or forelorn,
Each of us carries inside
A desperate need for that touch.
Eye to eye
Hand to hand
Heart to heart
To connect in some way.
To embrace and be embraced.
All of us are touched
By some form of love,
Whether it be freely given,
Greedily hoarded,
Or guiltlessly brushed aside.
It may be a comfort or a burden,
But this is always true:
The weight of Love
Lies heavy on a heart.
